Chess Rules - The Bishop
The Bishop is the deadly archer in your army. He is lethal in long range attacks, and powerful when used as a defender from within your fortress.
The Bishops start two squares from the corners.
Where the Bishops Start
Each side starts with 2 Bishops.
The Bishops are placed along the edge, two squares away from the corners.
The Bishop moves diagonally. The green x's show legal moves for the Bishop.
How the Bishop Moves
The Bishop moves in a diagonal line in any direction - forwards or backwards.
The Bishop can move any number of squares, but not off the edge of the board.
The Bishop can't jump over friendly or opposing pieces.
The Bishop captures the same way it moves.
How the Bishop Captures
The Bishop captures opposing pieces by moving onto their square and replacing them.
