Chess Rules - Special Moves: Promotion

When a Pawn reaches the far side of the board, it is promoted. This means that it must be turned into another piece of the player's choice.

A Pawn must be promoted in to one of the following pieces:

You can promote a Pawn to any of the above pieces, even if those pieces are already being used on the board. For example, it is possible to control 2 Queens at one time (or even more!).
