Chess Rules - Where to Go From Here

You've made it through the basics! Your next step should be to get out there and play some games of chess. Whether face to face, over the internet, or against a computer opponent. Check out our section on Places to Play if you need help finding opponents.

If you're still a little confused (don't worry, everybody is at this point), the best thing to do is play! Through practice, the rules will quickly become natural. Feel free to look back at these pages when you need a refresher.

Once you've got a few games under your belt, you might want to check out our sections on Tactics and Strategy. And if you're looking to do some serious Improvement we've got some great training plans.

Welcome to the world of chess.
